Radiohead going back to the studio, do some songs, hangout, be good Oxford boys

header1 605x395 Radiohead going back to the studio, do some songs, hangout, be good Oxford boys winter Thom Yorke Radiohead new album Atoms for Peace 2011

Our favorite Oxford band, Radiohead, have had a busy year of releasing music and then not promoting it until last week. And then came the news of Thom’s new solo project album with Atoms for Peace (a birdie had told us about that a few months ago), and then Mr. Yorke told Rolling Stone the band had news songs and was going studio bound this winter. “It would be fun to have them ready when we go to play next year. I don’t know how we would release them.” Yorke told RS. “It would be nice to make it all part of the flow and just enjoy it – not think about it too much.” Well, we just went 6-12.

Finally, the robots are rising, and playing “Jeopardy!”

Posted from The Citrus Report

We just watched an awful, awful Target commercial with a dancing robot Santa, totally downgrading exactly what a robot can and should do. A robot shouldn’t be role-playing a dancing robot to really crappy 80’s disco. Instead, the robots should be facing off against the biggest winners ever on “Jeopardy!” in a man versus machine battle of wit and wills.

Coming this winter to a channel 7 near you.

Spend some Money this Christmas

Posted from The Citrus Report

We braved the shopping malls today (and by shopping malls we mean Fillmore Street in San Francisco, and by braved we ate organic food and tried on James Perse sweats) and did some Christmas shopping for our moms. And then we were feeling so proud of our thoughtful gifts we bought ourselves a little something as well.

Don’t let people fool you, Christmas is a time for spending money. You can fight it and feel stressed out making people gifts that actually aren’t really that thoughtful at all, or you can think about the people you like and buy them cool shit. Go forth and stimulate the economy. Feel good about creating holiday jobs. This IS what Christmas is all about. Before we settle in for the night and watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and drink a little Bedtime tea we wanted to give you some holiday gift giving tips.

1. We prefer things made in the USA. We get that it doesn’t always happen but we like it. The following keywords also get us every time: organic, local, cozy, one of a kinds, artisan, hand made, americana, american made, anything made in Portland or Maine, Brooklyn or San Francisco anything that can be worn at a nice dinner out or fishing.

2. The Resort Line: This is debated in our office but some of us believe that once christmas day comes along the last thing people want to receive are ski sweaters and pom pom hats. This is were a very narrow but exciting market comes in to play call the Winter Resort Line. Think of it like you are vacationing in the Canary Islands. Who doesn’t want a bikini and LeLabo Neroli perfume in their Christmas stocking?

3. Alcohol as a gift is over. Instead give olive oil, local honey, local weed, salted chocolate, or egg laying chickens.

Baseball players that still live with their parents—kind of fresh and forward-thinking if you ask us

Posted from The Citrus Report

We have thought about moving back in with our parents, so if you are a Major League Baseball player, why not live in your childhood room and have your mom do your laundry and make you meals? Especially when you are 23-years old?

Tyson Ross, who plays for our beloved Oakland A’s, still lives in Oakland with mom and dad. He makes $400,000 a year, and doesn’t pay rent. According to this Wall Street Journal article, “League officials say many players head home over the winter, but they believe that only Mr. Ross and Neil Walker, of the Pittsburgh Pirates, return to the nest during the season.”

We like this guy. And he has a girlfriend. Not bad, Mr Ross.
