David Choe Artwork
Renown muralist and artist, El Mac opened his second solo show in Denmark this month at Galerie Wolfsen titled ‘Objects at Rest”. The show is exhibiting some of El Mac’s pencil drawings for the first time.
El Mac: “Drawing from life -drawing people, especially- has been one of my favorite things to do for as long as I can remember. Interpreting what you see with nothing more than pencil lines on paper is something timeless and universal, it can portray humanity and convey personality in a uniquely honest and direct way. Drawing from life requires practice, but can enhance our appreciation and observation of the life around us, while also strengthening our other artistic endeavors.”
Here are some of his life inspired drawings in his signature style:
Watch the video for more insight into the context of the show and El Mac’s interpretation of where he comes from:

Bilbao, Spain: “El fin justificado”
“I always thought that the most difficult thing of painting in big formats was too keep the line gesture and the proportions like in the sketches. My sketches have a lot of mistakes and random lines, and somehow I wanted to reproduce that on a wall. The more effects and colors you use on your work, the more you can hide the mistakes and catch the viewer’s attention… when you use the line and not much more, the mistakes can be easily seen…” -Aryz

This shirt’s design and printing method are an homage to vintage 80’s horror movie posters and shirts. The screenprinting on this shirt is INSANE.
Its full discharge inks give it an ultra soft feel, and all of the wear and tear of an old shirt is reproduced
in perfect detail in the screenprinting process.
