Last year, Nychos produced an installation of Sigmund Freud being dissected. This amazing piece was displayed in New York City’s Flatiron Plaza from June 16 to 18. The statue aimed to homage to the visionary’s inner life as the pioneer of psychoanalysis.
Austrian street artist, Nychos completed a mural and sculpture of the father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud. Nychos has always been curious about the internal makings of creatures and animals, and now he is moving into the portrait phase of his art.
The mural, The Dissection of Sigmund Freud, is part of the Vienna Therapy project and can be found in the Danube Canal in Vienna.
June 16-18th 2016 featured Nychos’ 10 foot sculpture of Sigmund Freud in Flatiron Plaza, New York City.
Lucian Freud, one of the most influential painters of his generation and grandson of the famous Sigmund Freud, passed away in his London home on Wednesday after a brief illness. Freud was acclaimed for his figure paintings of nudes. He possessed a remarkable ability to see and represent a highly charged atmosphere around the figure. His work was influential to many. He will certainly be remembered as one of the most important people in contemporary figure painting. RIP Mr. Freud.
