Kyle Field & Thomas Campbell to open “Space Cake” @ Park Life in San Francisco

Posted from The Citrus Report

This is going to be a good one here in San Francisco, as Kyle Field and Thomas Campbell open a revolving installation and exhibition called “Space Cake” at Park Life Gallery. We are big fans of Thomas Campbell, so we are going to be into it.

Park Life says the show will consist of a month-long gallery transformation that will include installations, workshops, music performance and overall happening.

Kyle Field and Thomas Campbell will be working in and evolving the gallery space, transforming the area into a workspace and an art installation. Gallery visitors will have the opportunity to see the space evolve over the month long duration where Field and Campbell will be working on a semi-regular basis while staging performances (poetry, music, performance, workshops, and more..) on Thursdays throughout the month with other events to be announced as well.

The show opens February 17 at Park Life.

Tehran closed for “Smog Holiday”

Posted from The Citrus Report

For the 3rd time this month Tehran is having a “Pollution Day” and the horrible air quality has forced officials to close government offices and schools and recommend anyone with respiratory issues stay indoors. “Reduce Emissions!” we say as we drive around in circles looking for a parking spot.

Marks and Stencils Pictures on Walls Group Show

Posted from The Citrus Report

This annual group show in London curated by Pictures on Walls will feature a new Banksy print titled, Choose Your Weapon (60 cm x 60 cm, £450.00) which will be released later this month and is based on his recent “Keith Haring Dog” stencil. There is also some very good work in the show from everyone’s favorite French street artist, Dran.

Instead of calling the show “Santa’s Ghetto,” like in years past, Banksy called this one Marks and Stencils. Its a pun on Marks & Spencer. Get it? Got it.

Moustaches Make Everything

Posted from The Citrus Report

This settles it all. If you want to be an icon, you need a ’stache. They make a major difference. On a serious note, this is part of a real campaign, called “Moustaches Make A Difference.” Their idea is this month, “help us support prostate cancer research by growing a moustache. If you can’t get grow one, get one at mosmakeadifference.com, and encourage your friends to donate.”

Great idea, great campaign.

James Bond’s car is for sale

Posted from The Citrus Report

This is something we can endorse, the purchasing of James Bond’s car. According to Cartradeindia, “The Aston Martin DB5 driven by Sean Connery in James Bond movies “Goldfinger” and “Thunderball” is ready to go on sale this month. It will be auctioned in London at an expected price of USD four to five million.”

We think the best part is that “The successful bidder will also be entitled to a stay at the GoldenEye resort in Jamaica, the original Caribbean estate of Fleming, worth some 40,000 pounds, and a custom-made suit woven with gold thread made by the tailors who dressed Connery as Bond.”

Will Barras @ Stolenspace this October 29th-November 14th

Posted from The Citrus Report

Former Citrus feature and FIFTY24SF Gallery artist Will Barras will be showing in London town at Stolenspace later this month in a solo show called “Bad Reception.” If we had a plane ticket to the UK, we would go, but instead we will just have to wait for Internet updates about what it all looks like.

Complex Magazine gets REAS and Jose “Ease” Parla to do hip-hop covers with T.I. and B.o.B.

Posted from The Citrus Report

Looks like Jose Parla and Todd “REAS” James  made hip-hop look a lot better this month with these covers for Complex Magazine. We aren’t the biggest T.I. of B.o.B fans, hell, we can’t recall one thing the B.o.B. has done, but we like him with the REAS affect, and Parla does a good one on T.I. We know that in 2010, everything has to be a collab and a mash-up to reach every cross-over audience available, and this is done well.
