We were always a bit concerned that our World Series Champions Giants’ closer Brian Wilson was a little Marina, and his performance on “George Lopez” is teetering on that border of funny and a little disturbing. If he doesn’t pitch well this year, this is going to be that “Oh, shit moment.”

She sat silent for 700 hours, and now Marina Abramovic’s newest installation/performance piece has her enacting her own funeral. When Abramovic did her 700 silent hours at the MoMA this summer, she said of the piece:
To be a performance artist, you have to hate theatre,” she replied. “Theatre is fake… The knife is not real, the blood is not real, and the emotions are not real. Performance is just the opposite: the knife is real, the blood is real, and the emotions are real.”

When it was Bird vs Magic, it was the most beautiful thing the NBA ever cooked up. But now that its Kobe/Pau/Artest vs KG/Pierce/Allen/Rondo, this is the most annoying Finals in terms of players and fans possible. Look, Boston, we know you love your teams, but between the Red Sox and Celtics, your fandom is so annoying, and you bring frat boy douchebags in from all parts of the country to root with you. Go to the Marina, trust us. If we hear one more time how the Red Sox hadn’t one a series in nine decades and that you were starved for so long and it was so hard, just remember the Celts won 17 titles in that time, with one more added in for 2008. You were not deprived, and you still aren’t, so stop acting like it.
We can’t even act like that in the Bay Area… we won 5 Super Bowls in 15 years, the A’s have won 4 World Series and been to 6 since the 1970s, which ain’t bad.
And Lakers’ fans, you exist purely in imagination only, because most of your most ardent fans are celebrities who didn’t grow up in LA. And you put flags on your car only in the playoffs, meaning you never paid attention to games 1-82. You’re annoying too, but we are going to side with you just a tad because we are based in California. You are the only California team that the sport’s world pays attention too. But that is the ONLY reason.
We bet Celtics in 6, though we lean towards Lakers in 7 in the “we are not betting just thinking aloud” universe.
