Internet Culture specialist Tom Galle is an NYC-based digital creative blending contemporary tech influences with expressive works of art. By combining seemingly disparate ideas together and backing them up with an oftentimes witty avant-garde approach, he creates game-changing visual displays, webpages, products, memes, and performative compositions.
A very cool logo, endorsed by the good people of Burlesque Design. The logo was designed by Barrett & Gaby in 1971 for Miami’s “Vote 4 Clean Water” committee. Simple, clean, and a clear message. Perfect.
There is a reason all the boys and girls in SoHo like Supreme, its because the guys who started the company liked Barbara Kruger and wanted to make their logo look exactly like one of her type treatments. And it worked, that damn red box logo is iconic. But give props to Kruger first.
She has a new book released by Rizzoli, which you can buy here that is being called a seminal collection, one of the most comprehensive collections of her work ever published. We are getting one right now for the office collection.
The Warriors don’t make the playoffs, they have a half-ass coach, they are being sold but letting the old regime make their draft pick, and we are pretty sure their two best players, Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry, don’t really want to play together. But damn, that new logo is the best thing in the NBA. Vintage, with a touch of contemporary flare. We dig.
