Some people don’t realize the amount of care that goes into wearing a pair of good denim. So if this Canadian kid Josh Le wants to wear his jeans for 330 days without washing them, we say that we have a pair of Double RLs that have about 200 wears and no washes going down right now. But this story is interesting…

Le paid $165 for a pair of Nudie Jeans, raw denim. He wore them 330 times without washing them between September of 2009 and December of 2010. Nudies are kind of cool, in our book. We washed a pair and completely ruined them, so we see the problem of washing.

Le and his professor McQueen, after the 15 months, decided to wash the denim, but not after preparing a bacteria test on the unwashed, 330 wears in state to the newly washed state.

As ABC reported, “There did not appear to be differences in the bacterial carriage depending on whether the jeans had been worn for 15 months or only 13 days,” McQueen’s findings read. The bacteria present on the jeans came mostly from Le’s skin and was not harmful, McQueen said.

Keeping things American, all jeans are made in Los Angeles. On sale today at Brooks Brothers stores.”

Also, when was the last time you heard Levi’s being called Levi Strauss? We think they may be a different brand under the big umbrella.
