Surface Tension

This is brilliant. Criterion Collection, the only people who make owning a DVD worth a damn, just released a clip of experimental filmmaker Hollis Frampton’s famed 1960s NYC piece, Surface Tension. The clip is called “Two and a Half Minutes of Surface Tension,” and follows Frampton’s camera as he walks from Brooklyn to Central Park. Editor’s note: This is why everyone really wants to be in NYC.

Jose Parla murals in Toronto

NYC-based by way of Miami artist Jose Parla just painted two amazing murals in Toronto, Canada, commissioned by Concord CityPlace. The murals feature that signature EASE style, with the layered and abstract evolution of the handstyle look.  We at Upper Playground had Jose in our RUN UP DVD, so we like to keep updated on what he has going on.

BLU releases a new DVD, we want it.

Perhaps better known as the Underdog King of the moment, Italian street artist Blu just released a new DVD of animations, time-lapses and others works, the first full collection of his video works every produced. There were two versions available, signed and unsigned, but because of the whole “Blu is very talented and popular and he was involved in the now infamous Deitch MOCA buffing,” those signed versions of the DVD are long, long gone.

But you still got the unsigned versions for your enjoyment…
