We know that everyone who likes a banger in the mouth knew about this news already, but we just felt that on a Weakness Wednesday sort of day, knowing that 2012 will bring us the long-awaited Arrested Development movie is just a way to get through the day. At 9AM, you need that sort of motivation. As Bluth family figure head, Jeffrey Tambor, told the Huffington Post, “I think what’s coming down is, certainly, the negotiation over my trailer is what I think is stopping people. No, it’s all going straight, everyone’s on board, I know they’re writing, and maybe next time this year we’ll be having this conversation.”
The movie has an IMDB page, which seems to suggest that it is going to happen, or its just fun to have an IMDB page.
Ai Weiwei, who has become an international symbol on the inability for a Chinese artist to conduct free speech and expression, was released from jail on bail today in Beijing. He had been arrested prior to a trip to NYC on the grounds of suspicious economic activity, and became a centerpiece of international outcry for China to to release the artist on unjust causes.
The artist has returned to his family, and is asking for patience before he speaks to the press.
REVOK, the Los Angeles graffiti staple and current exhibiting artist at MOCA’s “Art In the Streets exhibit, was sentenced Monday (today, April 25) to 180 days in jail after a judge found that he had violated the terms of his probation in a previous vandalism conviction. REVOK was arrested this past weekend at LAX before heading on a trip to Ireland.
The LA Times reports that Capt Mike Parker of LAPD says,, “As a result of evidence discovered during his April 21 arrest, other incidents of vandalism were found in the county of Los Angeles.”
We love how the Times wrote about another artist, SMEAR, that he was a tagger-turned-artist. Just making the distinction for the older set.
In early 2009, FIFTY24SF Gallery had a great show with UK’s Hush, called Veiled Beauty. Since then, we have seen Hush get bigger and bigger, and we just saw an update of new work posted on Arrested Motion. Looks like a new show is in motion… nice work.
